Container ship doing donuts in front of Sydney Opera House 25 Sept 2018
Why was the Leda Maersk doing donuts in the busy main section of Sydney Harbour?
Container ships do not come into Sydney Harbour. There are no container facilities in the harbour. The container facility is at Port Botany.
It appears that the ship was celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Maersk shipping company’s operations in Australia. Pretty clever of them to obtain permission to do those unique maneouvres! See https://twitter.com/Maersk/status/1044482288401158145

The Leda Maersk last week became the deepest eastbound container vessel, draught 12.5 metres, to transit Torres Strait at the northern tip of the Australian mainland. It used new technology to do this.
After playing games in the harbour the ship proceeded to Port Botany.
